Dumpling House

This place has the best and cheapest dumplings and soup. So if you are strapped for cash, and you are muy hungry, trot down to Grand and Eldridge. I saw the founder of Doughnut Plant there, ordering the tuna sandwich and 25 vegetarian dumplings. The vegetarian dumplings are really good if you like bok choy. Watching the ladies make soup, sesame bread, and dumplings are a performance. I recommend the pork-fried bun, unless you don't like mushrooms.

118 Eldridge St New York, NY 10002. Phone: 212-625-8008

The whole meal below feeds 2, and costs $7.50. The include 15 dumplings, a large wonton and noodle soup, and a tuna sandwich.

Nick is wearing my proxy...

He had to wear that for one day. It kind of reminded me of one of those old Toyota car dealer commercials except it bounced over words so you can sing along. Btw, Nick is a genius.

6th Avenue and 10th Street, October 20, 2006

What's going on here? I tried to track this story in the news and couldn't find it. It looked like a fire, but I didn't see any smoke.

This is a game...

This is a social game created by Summer Bedhard at ITP at NYU and her group for game design. I couldn't resist taking a photo. It looks fun and funny. Btw, Steve Jackson smells fresh, like pecans, denoted by his name "Pecan Jackson."

What is chair-swimming?

I just discovered this new form of exercise for urbanites. Don't have access to a pool? Then try chair-swimming. All you need is an office chair with wheels and hardwood floors. If you're positioned in the chair as you normally would you just push off with your feet and do the backstroke gesture (there's a demonstration below). It actually feels like you're swimming. It's really fun if you have a couple of people to do this with you, you can have a chair-synchronized swim team. Visual Effects and Sound Effects: Ran Tao. Camera-man: James N. Sears
